“The Mentalist” Should Have Seen This Observation Coming

Friday’s (3/9/12) episode of The Mentalist on CBS ended with a detective addicted to pain killers flushing a bottle of prescription drugs down the toilet. Great dramatic flare, but a horrible example to many viewers who are already prone to  sending the wrong things down the drain.  Of course, that’s NOT the proper way to dispose of drugs. Any unused or unneeded drugs should be taken to a pharmacy or local police department for proper disposal. The point is, our “throw-away” mentality is tainting our water supply with antibiotics, hormones, caustic chemicals and maybe even–poisons.

  1. You are absolutely right. Everything like drugs, hormones, meds, I mean everything sent down our toilets whether in the city systems or private septic systems, ends up in the lake. Systems do not filter out such chemicals. We are deforming and killing our grandchildren. Shame on us!
