Summary of Water Sampling Results

Kewaunee Cares, a working committee of the Clean Water Action Council of Northeast Wisconsin, recently reported on the results of water sampling conducted during the last year. The presentation, sponsored by the League of Women Voters, also included information on water samples collected in Door County, by Peter Sigman of Little Sturgeon Home Owners.

The Kewaunee Cares sampling program reflects source points and exits points on three major watersheds in Kewaunee County: Kewaunee River, Ahnapee River and the East Twin River. Kewaunee County watershed map

While no direct conclusion about water quality can be made based on this baseline data, it is evident that surface water is adversely affected by land use choices in the county. Additional testing will follow to compare to these results.
